The Grand Museum (Das Grosse Museum)

The Robin Boyd Foundation film society DADo presents The Grand Museum (Das Grosse Museum) as the second film in its program for 2015.

The film by Johannes Holzhausen looks behind the scenes of Vienna’s Kunsthistorisches Museum, following the day-to-day activities of staff. From looking at the work of restorers and curators to watching the management aspects of the museum unfold, the film quietly provides insight into a rarely seen world.

The screening will be accompanied by guest speaker Dr Michael Brand, Director of the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Dr Brand has held a number of prestigious roles in the past, including as the director of the J Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles and director of the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto.

DADo film society regularly screens films on architecture, urbanism and design.
