The Cantilever Bracket by Allproof Industries is a fully customizable level threshold channel drain system. Suitable for use in conjunction with a tile or paver finish, the Cantilever Bracket system forms a trench drain clearly separated from the door joinery.
The NCC 2022 draft has identified that for new buildings to achieve a Silver Level certification under the Liveable Housing Design Guides, a level threshold entrance must be achieved. In a level threshold, the internal and external surfaces are not subjected to a level change, so clause 5.3.1.4 AS/NZS 3500.3:2018 applies: “Grated drains shall be designed and placed across ramps or entrances to intercept any flow, which would otherwise drain into the building”.
Forming a trench drain on site and fixing the bracket to it creates a clear mechanical separation from the door joinery. This allows joinery to drain internal moisture through framing systems into an external channel. Setting the grate 10 mm–12mm off the joinery reduces water’s ability to enter the building.
