Boozy moods: Deeds Brewing Taproom

The Splinter Society has created an immersive bar and dining space inside an industrial warehouse in Melbourne’s Glen Iris for craft beer maker Deeds Brewing.

The design of the Taproom space incorporates elements of brewing such as fermentation tanks built into the bar. It also makes visible the working production facilities of the brewing company via screened views. As well, large circular screens also divide the ground and mezzanine levels.

The majority of the original warehouse structure has been retained. The design also features an industrial aesthetic with fine black steel, warm timber and suede textures. The structural elements of the existing ceiling have also been exposed and the ceiling beams have been recycled into table tops.

The centrepiece of the fitout, the bar, is also accentuated with theatrical lighting elements.
